NOTES
*******
- Although I'm using Traktor Pro 3 here, everything works with Traktor Scratch Pro 2 as well, but the last point (mixer FX), because it's a feature from the v3.
- The sound of this video was recorded with autogain in the app of my smartphone: please do not think Traktor or the Z2 give an output like that.
- The grid functions (e.g. quantize) are conceived for music made with perfect tempo execution (i.e. music made or fixed by machines). With organic recorded music by humans without quantize function, jumps and measurings will not work perfectly.
- External recording is VERY low (but you can amplify with no quality loses at all later with any audio editor like Audacity). If you stream in this way, you will need to increase gain. You can not exclude the mic in the recording, and please remember EVERYTHING sounding through the Z2 will be included in the recording/streaming! (i.e. messenger notifications)
- Please ignore my disable recording button in Traktor: I am using the demo version of Traktor Pro 3 (I have the license for Traktor Scratch Pro 2, the included version when I bought my Z2 in 2016)
- When calibrating DVS, any DVS controlled deck will automatically switch to internal play (like in 7:12 in deck A)
- If you want to abruptly cut the FX for any channel, press the round FX button above the channel fader to disable. If you want to stop generating more FX but want the actual tail keep playing, disable the FX module with the ON button to finish its feeding.
- In Traktor Pro 3, you can set the layout to show just 1 deck. I guess it was conceived for preparing tracks before mixing, but if you are going to scratch with one turntable / CDJ only and you have no interest in seeing anything from the internal mixer controls for that deck, it could be an interesting option for you. If you use the right turntable / CDJ, remember you can route the B input from the Z2 to the deck A.
- you can map the TAP function for the master clock (3:02) in Master clock ➡ beat tap: I guess it isn't pre-mapped (the "TAP" buttons in the Z2 are just for the decks A and B)
- Sometimes I did not pay attention to the vumeters, but I recommend to NEVER let the higher orange led to come on when going to master. The blue ones can be always on, and the orange ones just blink. This will ensure the best audio quality (avoiding clipping / distortion)
