Having flown into Doha from Dublin on their 787 product, I'd expected to be flying onwards to Phuket on another 787. Which would have made for a dull video as I would have been repeating equipment.... But a few weeks after booking Qatar switched equipment on me and replaced the 787 with an A330-200. This is their third string business product, innovative when launched, but now hugely dated. "The One They Keep Hidden" you might say as it never features in any of their PR material, and if you've flown into Doha on a QSuite, the contrast will be shocking!!!
Hopefully these planes will be re-retired soon so the problem will go away, but here's my review of the experience so you can be prepared if this happens to you...
