Unboxing the OnePlus 8T, with a full tour of the camera tech, specifications, OxygenOS 11 features, 120Hz display and other bits. My full review is coming soon but for now here's all you need to know about the OnePlus 8T's hardware and software - while my comparisons vs the Pro, Pixel 5 and other best phones of 2020 show how it stacks up to rivals.
The UK price is £549 for this silver model (8/128GB) and £649 for the aqua-marine (12/256GB).
This is one of the first smartphones to come with Android 11 out of the box, topped by the latest OxygenOS. I love the new design work, even if the OP8T itself looks very similar to older handsets. And while the specs haven't been upgraded significantly compared with the OP8, you do now get a 120Hz display and super-fast Warp Charge 65. The battery can now be refilled in under 40 minutes from empty, an impressive feat to match Oppo and Realme phones.
You've got that same Snapdragon 865 chipset for gaming on the go, complete with the excellent Game Space feature. Good news indeed for PubG and Call of Duty Mobile fans. The OnePlus 8T also has 5G support thanks to the Qualcomm X55 modem, along with WiFi 6 support. So no changes on those fronts vs the older OP8.
Check back soon for a review and have a gander at my other OP8T videos for a closer look at the OxygenOS software and more.
