Beautiful and hopeful music with the bells of the church of Biasca in Ticino, Switzerland.
The 11th century church of Saints Peter and Paul, is situated above the town of Biasca, Ticino in Switzerland. For all the parents who had to let their children go too soon.
The bell tower houses four bells in E major (E, F sharp, A and B flat).
The 9-quintal bell, which was newly cast by the Barigozzi family in 1933 (in the Holy Year), rings the Angelus at midday, the Ave Maria and, on Fridays at 3 pm, the death of the Lord. The 2nd bell (1802), called 'da mort', announces death and funerals. The 3rd bell, 'la chiappalan' from 1828, is intended for masses celebrated by the chaplain at other times, currently weekday masses. The 4th piece from 1874, "la pineta", is played solely for "gli angerign" (little angels): for the death and burial of children under the age of 8. The radiant sound of the "pineta" sings a melancholy melody that is lost in the distance. It always offers comfort and affection to the little grave of the child buried in the cemetery.
Music creates the link between our dreams and reality. No place seems too far, let yourself
drift and let the power of sound speak for itself.
