At the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve 1992 it was all change for the ITV network as the new franchises kicked in. Out went Thames Television after 24 years, out went TVS and TSW after 11. Out, too, after almost 10 years, went breakfast television franchise holder TV-am, giving way to GMTV. Here's the final edition's opening titles for Good Morning Britain. For the record, Thames was replaced by Carlton, TVS by Meridian and TSW by Westcountry. It was a new era for ITV - and only the beginning of many changes to come.
