Mary Beth Meehan is a photographer and educator whose current project, City of Champions: Portrait of Brockton, examines her hometown, a post-industrial Massachusetts city. The work was exhibited as a large-scale public exhibition in downtown Brockton, sparking community-wide conversations about evolving urban identities, dislocation and the possibilities for social change. Meehan's work has appeared in The Boston Globe, New York Times and Washington Post; her photographs have been exhibited internationally and she has lectured widely on the topic of community photojournalism.
