Dr. Richard G. Ohye is the head of the Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery Division and the Surgical Director of the Pediatric Heart Transplant Program. Dr. Ohye's major clinical interests are in complex congenital heart defect repair and pediatric heart transplantation. His research interests are in clinical and translational research and are supported by his role as the Co-Director of the Michigan Congenital Heart Outcomes Research and Discovery (M-CHORD) program. Dr. Ohye is the study chair of a 14-center randomized trial comparing techniques for the Norwood operation for hypoplastic left heart syndrome, the first multi-institutional prospective trial ever performed in congenital heart surgery. Dr. Ohye is also the Program Director for the University of Michigan Congenital Cardiovascular Surgery Residencies.
