The next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. Initially scheduled for mid-2025, the tournament was rescheduled to avoid conflicts with the inaugural Club World Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
CAF president Patrice Motsepe expressed confidence in the success of AFCON 2025, highlighting the complex scheduling negotiations. The 24-nation tournament, previously won by Ivory Coast, faces challenges in balancing international and domestic calendars.
The qualifying draw will occur on July 4 in Johannesburg, with 48 countries competing for a spot. Nigeria, runners-up in 2023, aim to claim their first title since 2013. The Super Eagles, led by MVP William Troost-Ekong, are determined to shine in Morocco.
Stay tuned for thrilling football action as Africa’s best teams compete for glory!
