The Policy Session on the Women: A Powerful force for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE) was articulated around the findings of the CoD’s Democracy and Security Dialogue (DSD) and underscored the importance of advancing women’s political participation.
This Session discussed the role of women in P/CVE, challenges to overcome and existing stereotypes as well as good practices on promoting inclusion, political participation, leadership and empowerment across society, including in the governmental, security sector, and civil society institutions for P/CVE. Through exchanges among speakers and participants, the P/CVE Policy Session put forward concrete recommendations.
