In this video I review the new XL8F towers from Fluance, which were released in August 2020.
The first thing I noticed was the tight punchy bass response. These Reference Series tower speakers have the power to fill a room, with enough bottom end to hit you in the gut if you let them. They are well constructed, fit and finish is nice, and they look fantastic. While they do lack the refinement of some more costly towers - particularly in the mids and soundstage - it’s not something I would dwell on too much, particularly at this price point (US$599 including shipping).
These towers provide exceptional value for your money - and are right at home in a 2-channel set up, and in a home theatre. Bottom line: The XL8F towers offer excellent performance and good looks, at a reasonable cost. That’s a winning formula in my books.
