If the images that you have received in WhatsApp application are not showing in the gallery of your Android device then there are two settings that you have to check. So, let me open WhatsApp application at first. let me go to this more option - "settings" - "storage data" and here there is an option "Media auto download" and under this you have three options, "When using mobile data", "When connected on WiFi", "When roaming". So, you have to select this option and make sure that these options photos, audios, videos, documents they are selected so that it will be automatically downloaded when you are using mobile data. Similarly you have to go to this option, when connected on WiFi. Make sure to select this options and then OK so that photos, videos and other medias will be downloaded automatically to your phone. Same you can do for when roaming if you want. Now the next thing what you have to check is you have to go back and you have to go to this option "chats" and make sure that this option "Media visibility", it is enabled. So, what happens show newly downloaded media in your phones gallery, this option will be activate if you enable this option. Hopefully this should fix the issue.
