Short, medium and long-term corruption trends for Serbia and other eastern European/Central Asian countries are presented in this video using scores published by Transparency International in their Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2023 report.
The video reviews Serbia’s performance in addressing corruption in the periods 2012-2023, 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.
Serbia’s CPI score recorded an overall moderate decline in 2012-2023. The country’s CPI score advanced in 2012-2013 but the higher score could not be sustained and scores steadily declined during 2016-2023.
The rate of change in the country’s CPI score was less than the rate of change in average Eastern European/Central Asian and global CPI scores in 2012-2023 and 2018-2023.
While Serbia’s CPI score exceeded average Eastern European/Central Asian CPI scores continuously throughout 2012-2023, they were consistently less than average global CPI scores in this period. #corruption #serbia #easterneurope
