FBI Agent Peter Strzok, who was removed from the special counsel's investigation of Russian involvement in the 2016 U.S. elections, testified before a joint hearing of two House committees. Agent Strzok expressed regret over texts he sent to a former FBI attorney with whom he had an affair, and faced several hours of questions from members. Texas Republican Louie Gohmert characterized Agent Strzok's conduct as a "disgrace" and accused him of doing damage to the justice system.
