Bachkovo Monastery, the second largest monastery in Bulgaria and one of its oldest, made preparations on Thursday for Orthodox Easter, which takes place on Sunday.
Around 5,000 Easter eggs were dyed red and various other colors in the monastery's kitchen.
The Thursday before Easter, also known as Holy Thursday, is traditionally the day when many Christians dye Easter eggs and make other preparations for Good Friday and Easter Day.
