I may have set a world record here. Terrible carbon deposits 23K miles ago and I kept on driving it. This video covers the result and how I went about fixing it. Mid-way through, there's about 20 minutes of just me talking while the engine warms up. I won't be offended if you skip past that :-)
I've driven about 2K miles since this repair and no additional carbon is leaking out of the injector so far - so I'm quite happy with the outcome here.
