A report released today that offers findings on Ofsted inspection outcomes by school type shows council-maintained schools are consistently outperforming academies in Ofsted inspections.
The report looked at the most recent inspection grades of all the schools considered and broke these down by school type (LA-maintained, academy, free school). 93% of local authority-maintained schools have an ‘outstanding’ or ‘good’ rating, but 83% of academies have an ‘outstanding’ or ‘good’ rating.
