The World Data Lab has produced a comprehensive economic and demographic survey. They define "consumer" as spending at least $12 per day.
They forecast the biggest consumer markets in 2030 will be China, followed by India. Most of the world's market growth will be in Asia, with many countries there to see double-digit increases over today.
The US and much of Europe will see modest gains, while Japan and Russia are among the countries that will see net declines, driven by demographics and aging.
Rhetoric about moving supply chains to where their consumers are ignores key realities, which can be clearly seen on the charts: the consumers are in Asia. The markets of the US, Canada, and Mexico combined will still be less than one-half of China's, and about 60% of India's.
