Film Star Rangeela
Rangeela's real name was Saeed Ali Khan, Rangeela was the only artist in the world who made a name for himself in virtually every field of filmmaking. He made some films for which all the credits were attributed to him. He was simultaneously an actor, director, writer, producer, screenplay writer, dialogue writer, songwriter, musician, singer, distributor and exhibitor. He was born in 1937 in Nangarhar, Afghanistan. Later his family shifted to Peshawar. After the establishment of Pakistan, Rangeela moved to Lahore and started working as a painter there. In Lahore, he got an opportunity to watch films, which inspired him to act. In 1957, Rangeela started his film career with a small role in director Attaullah Hashmi's film Data. Later, Shabab Kiranvi's film Suraya and Ashfaq Malik's film Ghara Daag made him a popular comedian. The film Sing Dil released in 1968 is said to be a new turning point in his film career. A few years later, Rangeela opened his own production house and also wrote the story for his film and also became a producer. His film was a huge success. His films Aurat Raj, Sona Chandi and Insan Aur Gadha were well received. After gaining fame as a comedian and making his place in the industry, Rangeela not only proved himself as a filmmaker, director but also achieved tremendous success. He also sang and recorded songs in his own voice for films. Rangeela acted in a total of 660 films. Rangeela has been honored with numerous honors in the film world, including the Presidential Medal of Excellence awarded by the Government of Pakistan.
The famous song "Ga Mere Manwa Gata jaa ray jana hai Hum Ka Door" from 'Diya Aur Tofan' was recorded in Rangeela's own voice which was shot on the film's hero Ejaz. After the grand success of "Diya Aur Tofan" he made a colorful film "Rangila" and as usual directed the duties himself. . Apart from films, Rangeela also did stage plays and there too he was well received. Every beloved artist who spread smiles on people's faces for 35 years, Rangeela left his loved ones on May 24, 2005.
