The International Monetary Fund is betting the global economy will see slower growth next year. In its World Economic Outlook report, the global lender's pegging global GDP up by 2.7 percent in 2023. That compares with an estimate of 2.9 percent in July. Growth forecasts for many countries have been downwardly revised, including South Africa, which the IMF sees growing by 1.1 percent in 2023, after having achieved 2.1 percent this year.
