With the world moving more and more into to the virtual scene it's even more, important to make sure that our zoom meetings are accessible for all!
This webinar, hosted in collaboration with DARU (Disability Advocacy Resource Unit) and YDAS (Youth Disability Advocacy Service) will include tips and advice on how to ensure that when we host our meetings and events online, it is something that everyone can attend.
As a society, we are starting to see a shift in thinking at a policy level on how we can support people with disability to participate in an ordinary Australian life. However there are still barriers that have yet to be addressed and are found at all levels: in government policy, societal attitudes, and in communication and the built environment.
We should be committed to make sure that we can overcome these barriers, including in our daily and work lives. This webinar will focus on various topics including:
Tips on disability etiquette
Acknowledging mental illness
Communication for positive interaction
Navigating Zoom technology and accessibility
This is the fifth in a series of free webinars that YACVic as the peak body for young people and youth sector ran during the COVID-19 pandemic.
