Not sure if someone is gaslighting or manipulating you? The best way to tell is to focus on how you feel when you walk away from a conversation with this person. Do you feel drained? Exhausted? You know, emotionally drained. Do you feel frustrated often like you tried to say something and it never got heard? Do you feel just stuck and exasperated, even hopeless when you walk away? Do you feel guilty or ashamed? Maybe you went to them with some problem and then when you walked away, you felt like it was all your fault and not about them? Are you starting to doubt your own feelings and thoughts? If any of this is coming up, you are likely being manipulated or gaslit in a conversation and it's really time to step back and take some control.
