Some time ago I experimented with the stock design… indeed is a provocative one, but for this aggressive looking toy it seems to fit quite well. Plus incorporate the protruding spring guide that annoyed many.
Don,t judge harshly the thumbscrew use- I will design something sleeker at some point…if don,t loose my interest in this contraption altogether …
