I had my eyes on Lauriston Castle for a while, ever since I saw photos of it on Instagram. Same goes for Cramond Island. When the idea was floated that we would pick up our friends from Edinburgh Airport in the evening, I started planning a new Edinburgh day trip. I think I planned it pretty well and we managed to see a lot. We started off with a tour of Lauriston Castle. I included my personal highlights, but there is more to the tour. If you're into old houses this is very much recommended.

Next, we went down to Cramond and parked up at the beach. We were still in time to get the low tide and we did plenty of exploration on Cramond Island. Next up was Cramond Roman Fort ([ Ссылка ]). But the Romans weren't the first to build on the site. There was even a Mesolithic settlement here. This place just outside of Edinburgh is steeped in history and I had a very enjoyable day out, so I invite you to come along in this video!
