(4 Jul 1979) The plight of Vietnamese refugees in Malaysia and Hong Kong and Cambodians trying to flee into Thailand. Four islands in south-east Asia have been selected as possible centres for Indochinese refugees and another one could be ready within a matter of weeks an American state department official has said. The small island lying off the mainland of Malaysia is the end of the line for thousands of boat people who have made the perilous voyage from Vietnam. The Chan and Chung families found themselves in the same hut and both wives were pregnant Mrs Chan produced twin girls and within a week so did Mrs Chung.
