Greetings my dear friends,
Presenting this song for you this Spring. This is not a new song though. I had recorded it in 2012, for the album Nuton O Sonaton-2, by Times Music. These two songs together were the first two tracks of the CD. However on digital platforms these two never appear next to each other, the way they were meant to be, to create the chiaroscuro effect of two contrasting musical genres, sharing much in common and yet quite different, almost polar opposites in fact.
The Rabindrasangeet, one of the most brilliant spring songs of Tagore has Raag Basant (or Paraj should one say) as its base, but with most deliberate deviations which give it that touch of a nuance, which makes it typically Tagorean or 'Rabindrik'!
The song has been beautifully orchestrated by the brilliant virtuoso Prattyush Banerjee. The electric guitar used in the preludes and interludes is electric indeed.
Happy Spring always and wish you a colourful listening experience!
Cheers!
Sounak.
