(28 Jun 2018) WILLIAM VISITS CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE IN JERUSALEM
UK Prince William toured sensitive Jerusalem holy sites on Thursday (28 JUNE 2018), the final day of his historic royal visit to the Middle East.
The prince toured the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where tradition holds that Jesus was crucified and buried.
He walked through the cavernous church escorted by a multidenomational group of clergymen. He lit candles and received a gift from the Greek Orthodox Patriarch.
The Duke of Cambridge's Jerusalem leg is by far the most charged of his five-day tour of Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian territories - the first official visit of a member of the British royal family.
Earlier he visited other key sites in Jerusalem's Old City.
