Our journey through Kruger National Park
November 2021.

We travelled the full length of Kruger National Park, north to south, in 2 weeks. It was the first time we had travelled to the north. A special deal at Elephant Plains Game Lodge (post-covid) we could not pass up. Tons of wildlife of all shapes and sizes, beautiful vistas.

00:04 Zvakanaka, Igababa Cottage. Lovely peaceful spot and very helpful owners. Birds and mongoose in the gardens. [ Ссылка ]
00:14 Nthakeni Bush Camp. Fantastic place, owners and staff, really enjoyable meal at the Thusakeni Shack. Easy drive to the Pafuri Gate. Pafuri region, Luvuvhu River. [ Ссылка ]
02:30 Punda Maria. The camp, Witsand and Dzundzwini waterholes were most productive. Safari Tent (ST2) unit #5.
04:23 Shingwedzi. Babalala picnic site, Mphongolo and Red Rocks loops, wonderful. Lucky with leopards and hyena pups, lots of ellies. Unit FF4 (#29) was really nice.
07:54 Mopani. Mooiplaas picnic site, stunning sunset over the dam. Seriously hot. Unit FB4 (#78), nice big accommodation.
08:47 Sable Dam Hide. Elephants, buffalo and hippo at the dam, lions roared around 19:30 and again 20:40. Next morning stopped at Letaba to use the day visitors' shower and brunch with nice river views.
09:47 Satara. Had a nice lion sighting here, birds and bats in camp. Stayed in BD2N unit #11 which had a nice view behind to the fence.
10:38 Elephant Plains Game Lodge. The drive in and out was corrugated, very badly between the Orpen road and Hluvhukani. Very nice lodge, of course, great and substantial food. The leopard is named 'Tiyani' and her male cub.
12:26 Skukuza. Plenty of wildlife in camp. Two sightings of wild dogs / painted dogs, the videos on the S114 we followed 4 dogs for over an hour with only 2 other cars around. Southern ground hornbills and a hippo out of water! The new Station restaurant has very good food. Riverside bungalow unit #90.
