In this lesson I show how you can combine solo lines + chords on a shuffle blues in D. The rhythm has a more "rocking" feel than my previous lessons on mixing solo lines and chords.
The lines that you hear me play are mainly based on the minor pentatonic scale with an added 6th. The intervals are I b3 4 5 6 8. Robben Ford and BB king often use these intervals in their solos. Because of the 6th it is like a mix of the minor and the major pentatonic scale.
