Here is a comparison of exhaust noise with the wastegate dumped to atmosphere and recirculated back into the downpipe.
Recirculating the wastegate also had the added benefit of reducing boost creep by 2psi.
It's hard to feel any difference in power between the two setups. There was a slight difference in boost pressure as well which would skew any opinion either way. The recirculated WG is much more pleasant to drive. I'm no longer notifying authorities of my whereabouts anytime I step on the gas!
