In a press conference at the Public Safety Building, Rochester police said that six people were shot at MLK Park overnight and one officer sustained injuries. The incident happened around 2:45 in the morning.
Chief David Smith says after officers near MLK park heard what sounded like gunshots, they arrived and found a 33-year-old man with one gunshot wound to the lower body.
Officers applied a tourniquet and he was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
