King Henry V died on 31 August 2022, 600 years ago.
At the Battle of Shrewsbury on 21 July 1403, the 16-year-old Prince of Wales, the future King Henry V, was struck in the face by an arrow. The arrowhead remained lodged in his face for 3 days, until surgeon John Bradmore was summoned to treat it. Bradmore's approach was revolutionary. Here, Kevin Goodman, Medical Historian and Author, talks us through how John Bradmore extracted an arrowhead from the face of the heir to the throne.
Kevin offers displays and demonstrations of medical history from the Roman to the Victorian period. If you'd like to learn more about his work, Kevin's website is [ Ссылка ].
