Catching big King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, and Bonita in the Gulf of Mexico is easy if your fishing with the best bait at the right time. The best time to catch King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, and Bonita in the Gulf of Mexico off the beaches and oil rigs of Gulf Shores Alabama, Orange Beach Alabama, and Fort Morgen Alabama is in the summer time. We usually catch the most fish while trolling during the months of May thru October. I fish with Shimano rods and reels and also use Penn rods and reels especially Shimano bait runner and Saragosa's and Penn spin fishers with Star rods. Lots of trolling baits will work but I think the best baits are made by Rapala and Yo-zuri. This type of fishing can be very easy and productive.
