Street & performance artist Banksy releases a life raft loaded with mannequins into the crowd during Idles set at Glastonbury. The stunt recalls images fixed in our minds of small boats packed with migrants risking their lives crossing the English channel.
The raft was fittingly released during Bristolian band Idles’ song ‘Danny Nedelko’ at the height of their set on the Other stage. Sailing across the crowd to lyrics that directly address the benefits of unity and diversity juxtaposed against the fear tactics, division & austerity of the Conservative party rule under Rishi Sunak.
