Lauryn Hill's foray into the entertainment industry started with acting. As a teenager, she appeared on the soap opera "As the World Turns" and in the film "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit" alongside Whoopi Goldberg. However, her true calling was music. While still in high school, she co-founded the band The Fugees with friends Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel. The group's blend of hip-hop, reggae, and soul quickly set them apart in the music scene.
The Fugees' second album, "The Score" (1996), catapulted them to international fame. The album, featuring hits like "Killing Me Softly" and "Ready or Not," won two Grammy Awards and remains one of the best-selling hip-hop albums of all time. Lauryn’s distinct voice and lyrical prowess were instrumental in the group’s success.
