Here is a quick guide to make easy work of the hotel basement and get out of the basement asap in The Last of Us 1 Remake.
As soon as you get in the spore area of the hotel basement, head up one of the ramps and into security to grab the hotel key card. Then head back down the ramp and start the generator. You should throw a trap nearby to make it easier to escape the basement but quickly head upstairs and into the hallway that leads to the hotel key card door to get out of the basement.
