Domaine Levert Barault was established in the late 16th century by the Levert family. It was purchased by the Picard family sometime between 1995-1997. It is marketed by Marks & Spencer, a large wine retailer in Hong Kong and Great Britain.
Mercurey is a largest appellation in the Cote Chalonnaise region of Burgundy (known for value red wines). Generally, Mercurey wines should be drank fairly young so this wine is probably on the decline a bit. They are fuller and more tannic Pinot Noir wines with a bit of spiciness.
Domaine Levert Barault owns about 9.5 hectares of land in Mercurey and also produces Premier Cru offerings. This is a general AOC wines, which is the lowest level of wines in the Burgundy classification system (meaning grapes used to produce this wine can come anywhere from the region of Mercurey).
Can't find a price for this wine but I am guessing somewhere around $20 CDN
