Dorian S. Nakamoto, Disputed "Bitcoin Inventor," Gives Public Comment at a Temple City, California City Council Meeting on March 4, 2014
Only two days before Newsweek supposedly "outed" Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto as "the face behind Bitcoin," Mr. Nakamoto gave public comments about traffic safety at a city council meeting in his hometown of Temple City, California. He spoke about an unsafe intersection near his home that he regularly drives and bicycles through. He asked the city council to install a stop sign to help fix the traffic problems.
In an article published only two days after Dorian Nakamoto spoke at this city council meeting, Newsweek reporter Leah McGrath Goodman claimed that Nakamoto is the mastermind behind Bitcoin:

Unless Dorian Nakamoto is an amazing actor, this video of his city council testimony makes it very unlikely that he could have been the same man who wrote this material:

In the video, Dorian Nakamoto struggles with basic English grammar, for instance forgetting articles like "a" and "the." That particular mistake is common amongst nonnative English speakers from Asia. Dorian Nakamoto's grammar in the video simply does not match the advanced grammar of the Bitcoin founder that can be read in the links above. A professional linguistics analysis has been unable to correlate Dorian's writings with that of the Bitcoin founder:

The possibility remains that Dorian Nakamoto was somehow affiliated with Bitcoin in the beginning. Newsweek reporter Leah McGrath Goodman quoted him in her story as confirming that he used to be involved with Bitcoin:
"I am no longer involved in that and I cannot discuss it," he says, dismissing all further queries with a swat of his left hand. "It's been turned over to other people. They are in charge of it now. I no longer have any connection."
The two sheriff's deputies present during the brief interview have confirmed Goodman's account of the conversation:

Goodman also says that she pressed Dorian Nakamoto to expressly deny ever being involved with Bitcoin, and he said he could not do that.
It also seems unlikely that Nakamato had never heard of Bitcoin until three weeks ago. If he had ever Googled his birthname, he would have come across the stories about Bitcoin years ago.
Perhaps Dorian Nakamoto was trolling the entire world in order to get a free lunch.
By the way, the media mistakenly reported that Dorian Nakamoto referred to Bitcoin as "Bitcom" in his interview with the Associated Press. If you watch closely and look at his lips, he is saying "Bitcon," not "Bitcom."

BTW, Dorian Nakamoto has a YouTube channel, and the comments he wrote with that channel (back in 2008 or 2009) display the same poor grammar as his other online material.

Also, in 90% of the sentences written by Dorian Nakamoto that are available online, he typed one space after his sentences, not two. (The Bitcoin founder almost always typed two spaces after his sentences.) It is unclear why Leah Goodman reported otherwise.
In the end, the chances of Nakamoto having anything to do with Bitcoin are extremely low. It is unclear why he said he used to be involved, but the most likely explanation is there was some misunderstanding.
My personal view is that Dorian Nakamoto was not involved with Bitcoin. (When I first read Goodman's article I believed otherwise.)
I also believe that the true founder (or founders) of Bitcoin should identify themselves. It might increase the public's willingness to accept this new technology if they knew who was behind it.
