Dr Jawed Qureshi presents his conference presentation on, “Behaviour of Headed Shear Stud in a Push Test using Profiled Steel Sheeting”.
In this video, I’ll walk you through the steps to model a push test, replicating the behaviour of a steel-concrete composite beam. A basic finite element model is developed for the push test, accounting for both material and geometric nonlinearities. The model closely aligns with the experimental results. A key feature of this FE model is its ability to simulate the separation between steel sheeting and the concrete slab. The model can be used to conduct a parametric study by varying factors such as concrete strength, stud diameter, mesh reinforcement, and the thickness and width of the sheeting. This paper was presented during the first year of my PhD study.
This video is a part of my conference paper presentation at “ASCCS 2009 9th International Conference on Steel Concrete Composite and Hybrid Structures”, Leeds, United Kingdom 8th – 10th July 2009.
