Rishi Sunak has outlined plans to scrap A-levels in his keynote speech at the Conservative party conference in Manchester.

He unveiled the new Advanced British standard (ABS), which he said wound give A levels and technical T-levels “parity of esteem”.
Under the plans, every student would study some form of maths and English to 18.
