The incident that caused the crash in front of me in the first round of the 2015 Volkswagen Racing Cup at Oulton Park.
This was my first ever race. I was starting at the back after engine problems during qualifying where I had no power so had to do the minimum 3 laps to be allowed into the race. Before the race the problem had been fixed.
I had a really good start but the incident happened right in front of me. I tried to squeeze through on the right but a team mate was right beside me and had nowhere to go. I went left onto the grass to avoid a collision. The race was then red flagged (stopped) while they cleared the damaged cars from the grid.
