It’s always a big deal in the Yugioh anime when we get to that final boss of an arc. All season, we see them commanding their minions or getting in a duel where they dominate, and when we finally get to them, they have monsters with unstoppable effects. However, when they get put in the real life card game, they either get nerfed where they’re nowhere near their anime dominance level, or you need like a dozen cards to set up their busted effects. Or maybe they’re completely unchanged, but the powercreep of the game is too much for them. Regardless, we want to look at their “final boss’ archetypes that didn’t quite cut the mustard when they made it into the card game. Perhaps they’re pretty good when you get everything set up, but they don’t match the meta enough to be as overwhelming as they were in the anime. Sam from Dungeon Dive Bar and Professor Oats join me for this one.
