Osiris: Beyond a destructive desire for authenticity? Hmm... I imagine that refusal was born from Sundaresh's vanity. In her view, the real Chioma would not need to be commanded. To do so would be to admit a profound defeat. And that would have been unacceptable to her narcissism.
