LANCASTER, Ohio (WKRC) -- State Health Officials are linking the "botulism" outbreak to a Lancaster Church's Potluck Sunday night.Right now there are no confirmed cases, but there are 18 suspected cases including one that killed a 54-year-old woman.Another 21 people are being observed. An anti-toxin from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention arrived Tuesday night. CDC reps are expected to arrive Thursday. Doctors say if people with symptoms are given the anti-toxin, it will greatly reduce recovery time.We don't think there is any danger to the community at large and this is absolutely not contagious, said Dr. Andrew Murry. Unless you were at the potluck and ate the food at the potluck, you are at no risk for problems.Right now doctors believe the botulism may have come from home canned potatoes or green beans, possibly used in a salad at the potluck. They stress it is not from a product purchased from an Ohio supermarket.Follow us on Twitter @Local12 and LIKE us on Facebook for updates!
