While it may not seem like much of an issue at first glance, many patients don’t realize that many skin irritations are caused by fungal skin infection. The Latin word “tinea”, meaning worm, is used to refer to fungal infections that can be found in the skin, hair, and nails. Because fungi are organisms that lack the ability to nourish themselves, they grow directly on their food source, which is why some of them grow on human tissue.

There is a variety of different types of fungal skin infection, but thankfully we have just the right kinds of treatment to make them little more than a soon forgotten nuisance.

Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is the use of liquid nitrogen to freeze off the brown spots on your skin to reveal healthy skin beneath. Cryosurgery is a very common procedure used to remove not only brown spots but also warts, some skin cancers, and other skin lesions. This is a quick, minimally invasive procedure that provides efficient results.
