Sega took over the reigns of the Thunder Force series after a number of ex-technosoft staff moved to them. More a homage to the previous instalments in the series, Thunder Force VI features a number of stages redone from previous games. While not the best outing in the series it's still a fantastic game. Hopefully Thunder Force VII will appear at some point in the future.
