Founded in 2015 as the spirits arm of Purple Wine + Spirits, Graton Distilling Company first launched the owner’s D. George Benham’s Sonoma Dry Gin in early 2016, then a vodka, then followed by
Redwood Empire American Whiskey in September 2017.
Now Redwood Empire is back with three new expressions which all collectively replace the original Redwood Empire. Announced in November of 2019, three uniquely hand-crafted, barrel aged, California whiskeys: “Pipe Dream” Bourbon, “Emerald Giant” Rye, and ”Lost Monarch. All three whiskeys are select blends of aged whiskeys between 4-12 years and sport new labels inspired by California’s most iconic conservationist, John Muir. Today we taste all three and see which ones are worth checking out. Enjoy!
