Short demonstration of how the control grid works in a vacuum tube triode. I just measured the plate current, first applying a positive voltage to the grid from a 9v battery and then, applied a negative voltage from the battery and the results are clear. In the first case you can see an increase in the current flow while in the second case there is practically no current flow.
The tube used is an early type 30.
