Ledge pull-ups are an underrated way to build advanced level grip strength for cat hangs, climb-ups, ledge muscle-ups, and other random buildering problems & ascending speed parkour challenges. The lack of support for feet/legs to push into, as well as the corner grip of the wall, make ledges harder to hang/pull on than most other obstacles.
Take it slow & steady with this movement as it can be easy to slip off or peel out if done without considerable strength & control. If possible, start with jump-assist + eccentric ledge pull-ups and eventually move on to moving your full bodyweight. Learn to control the movement first with a dead hang and then as you progress to ledge muscle-ups, you should consider learning to swing/kip a bit as well.
