A short cabin tour of Finnlines' cargo/passenger ferry Finnsirius cabin 9312. This video was shot on 23rd September 2023, just one week after the inaugural service of the ship. This 17 m2 Comfort Seaview cabin A4C is an outside cabin with two windows for four people and is one of the mid-range cabins on the ship. This cabin is large enough to keep any symptoms of claustrophobia at bay for pretty much everyone. It is equipped with a double bed, convertible bunk beds, small table and a single armchair. A decently-sized television and refrigerator are included.
M/S Finnsirius has been sailing with Finnlines on route Naantali-Långnäs-Kapellskär since it was delivered new in September 2023. The entry of service for this ship marks a considerable step up in scope of passenger services for the company. The previous companies utilizing the Finnlines brand had operated extensive passenger services in the Baltic Sea starting from 1962. Finnlines went cargo-only in 1986 when Enso-Gutzeit sold its share of Finnjet, a very highly-regarded but financially troublesome passenger-oriented ship that operated between Finland and Germany. The current operation between Finland and Sweden has its roots in 1989 when FinnLink started to operate ro-ro service between Uusikaupunki and Hargshamn. In 1996 the ports of call eventually became Naantali and Kapellskär. Carriage of private car passengers started in 2002 but foot passengers were still omitted until the traffic start of Finnsirius. A similar sister ship, M/S Finncanopus is slated for service entry in January 2024.
