SEBI has been following a proactive approach by initiating a consultative process before framing/amending capital market regulations. It gives an opportunity to the stakeholders to participate in the law making exercise by giving their suggestions or expressing their concerns. In this direction, SEBI has issued a Consultation Paper on amendments proposed in SEBI (Delisting of Equity Shares) Regulations, 2009.
This paper proposes a comprehensive review of the regulations with the following key objectives:
• Enhance disclosures to help investors to take informed investment decisions
• Refine process
• Rationalize the existing timelines, so as to complete the delisting in time bound
manner.
• Streamline the delisting regulations to make them robust, efficient, transparent and
investors friendly.
• Plug gaps
• Update references to the Companies Act, 2013 and other securities laws
Corporate Professionals feels that this is a golden opportunity to give suggestions/feedback instead of reacting after the law is made.
Accordingly, in this webinar, the focus will be to discuss and deliberate threadbare the changes proposed and the possible impact these changes may have on the delisting process and the shareholders of the companies seeking to delist their shares. All the suggestions emerging during deliberations will be collated and forwarded to SEBI for its consideration.
